    Telephones and mail

You may dial directly to any international number from any public telephone. For shorter calls, we recommend purchasing a telephone card. These come in amounts of BsF. 5.00 (about US$ 1.00). These can be purchased at any pharmacy, newsstand or bakery. If you want to make a longer call without a time restriction, we recommend doing so from call centers that are found throughout any main city or town. Please, be aware that telephoning from your hotel can be very expensive.

You can purchase stamps or mail any items from any post office. Please, remember that the Venezuelan mail system is rather inefficient and a bit unreliable. Allow 3-4 weeks for letters or postcards to arrive.

    Electricity

110 volts AC 60 cycles. American-styled two-pin plugs are most common.
