Venezuela’s Caribbean coast is, at over 3,000km long, the longest coastline in the Caribbean. It is full of beautiful beaches, islands, coral reefs and an amazing variety of fish species.

Here we highlight some of the possibilities we offer at each location on the Venezuelan Caribbean.

Los Roques

About 150km due north of Venezuela’s Caribbean coastline lies one of the least visited archipelagos in the world: Los Roques National Park. The Park is a giant coral reef skimming the surface of the turquoise and emerald waters, comprising 50 white-sand islands and a further 200 (or more) beaches and islets.

Visit the remote islands of the archipelago to relax, stroll on the white-sand beaches or swim in the crystal clear waters. Explore the underwater world with diving or snorkelling excursions or visit the flats for exciting bonefish fishing.

Los Roques National Park

Venezuela is one of the ten most biologically diverse countries in the world. Pioneers in environmental protection, Venezuela has introduced many laws concerning the use and enjoyment of these national treasures. As a result of these laws there are 43 national parks and 22 nature reserves (around 21% of the country), 2 bio-reserves, 7 sanctuaries and 5 wildlife reserves. This fantastic combination of vast boundless and raw beauty makes it exceptionally good for the tourism industry.

Los Roques National Park was created on 8 August 1972 to protect the coral reefs, mangrove swamps and the seagrass throughout the archipelago. Every year the park becomes home to more than 50 species of birds, as well as a huge variety of fish and marine invertebrates. Around 1,200 people live in the park which is visited by more than 50,000 tourists each year who stay in its 60 or so guesthouses. The climate is permanently dry and warm throughout the year, with the hottest months being September and October.
